Mimosa

From underneath the suffocating burden

and salty tears

of

rape, molestation,
addictions, depression,
suicide, incarceration,
domestic abuse,
abandonment, neglect,

and even black magic;

Her lips parted

and began to sing

an ancient and powerful medicine song.

The benevolent qualities of her Ancestors

guided her as she sang

to the many threads

of her broken tapestry - all tangled and torn -

until they were straight and whole

once again.

Etched in lines on her hands and face.

Meet me there - our place - on the illuminated

plateaus

where creation and humanity meet.
