10am PET (Perú time) a 11am PET

Join Karen Tinta, longtime Original Instructions School guest instructor, live from Quechua Nation (Cuzco, Perú) for our online community event benefiting Karen and her children during these times of transition they are experiencing.

During this hour-long class, Karen will be sharing:

  • A traditional story relating to the Plant Nations,
  • Wisdom surrounding the practices of offering to Earth when practicing regenerative farming
  • 2 medicinal meal recipes incorporating high altitude Herbal allies

What is a 'Pollada'? Within many indigenous Nations in Perú, a pollada is a charitable event organized within communities to suppprt and lift up beloved community members who are moving through hard times. In order to raise funds, a large amount of delicious traditional foods are prepared and sold in exchange for an accessible monetary cost. In the case of a pollada, the exchange is in the form of a plate of chicken (pollo) and sides. Chicken is by far the most popular national food common amongst all communities, and therefore a safe bet :)

In this case, we are coming together as our Original Instructions School community to support Karen while she continues to navigate the rough currents of single motherhood for the first time. True to her nature, Karen has been continuing to work hard to provide a good life for her 2 kiddos, without wanting to "worry anyone", or ask for help. She is the first female in her family (within memory) to have the strength to strike out on her own as a mother, giving her children a completely different array of opportunities that she had.

Seeing as how we are spread out all over Earth, we are offering this 'Virtual Pollada' sharing traditional recipies, storytelling, and wisdom of the Quechua Nation.

No Español? No problem :) Brittany will be interperting for Karen.

Class WILL be recorded, in the case that you would like to participate but cannot make the live pollada time on Thursday (15th).
