While it is very true that there must always be reciprocity regarding the exchange between Medicine Person and ceremony attendee, it is a firm traditional understanding across generations and cultures that the attendee must give their offering voluntarily rather than from obligation.

A quick note on personality shaming in regards to sexual + reproductive Trauma:
Some harmful things that well-meaning people say when you’re an assertive, outspoken woman who has survived sexual and/ or reproductive trauma;
1. “......but you’re so strong......”
2. “ You are a very sexual woman.”
3. “ It couldn’t have been that bad.”
4. “ Things like that don’t happen to people like you.”

Throughout the season(s) which for many brings darkness, cold, and at times illness it has long been crucial for the Human population to build relationships with plants which have immune boosting, and anti microbial properties.
